8url is a free, ad-free, open-source URL shortener. Anyone may create short links without an account. By using 8url, you agree to these terms.
The service
8url lets you create short links that show the destination URL first. Visitors choose whether to continue. There are no advertisements and no user accounts. The only operator credential is an admin key used for moderation.
Prohibited content
You may not create or distribute short links that lead to:
- Malware, ransomware, or other harmful software
- Phishing or credential theft
- Casino or gambling sites
- Adult or explicit content
- Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging campaigns
- Any other illegal activity
Automated checks (bot verification, keyword filters, and Safe Browsing) may reject links at creation time. They are not guaranteed to catch everything.
Preview before continue
Opening a short link shows the destination first. Continuation is optional and never forced. Flagged links show an additional warning on the same page.
Moderation
We may flag, block, or delete links without notice when they violate these terms or are reported as abusive. Reporting a link marks it for review and may show a stronger warning to visitors.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is,” free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for destinations linked through 8url or for damages arising from use of the service.
Report abuse
Use the Report Abuse form on the homepage. There is no email contact for abuse reports.
